Changes for International Student Status – Spring 2020March 23, 2020 / Current Students
Hello International Warriors! I know that these have been a trying past few weeks, but we hope that you are all safe and well. By now, you should have all received communication from your International team regarding the changes to the spring semester
At this time, for those students who would like to return home to complete their online courses this semester, you are able to do so and still remain in-status. In order to meet the stipulations for visa compliance, you are responsible to make sure that you are meeting the requirements for your online courses. Failure to do so will risk you becoming out-of-status. So please, remember to carefully read your instructions for your courses and keep up with any course work or assignments. If you have any concerns, your professors will be available to help you in any way that they can.
For students that are remaining in the US and are living in on-campus housing, you need to notify Residence Life as soon as possible.
For students that are graduating in May, no decisions have been made regarding commencement. We will update you as soon as information becomes available later down the road.
For students that are graduating in May and are planning on doing OPT, please read this carefully. You will need to apply for OPT before you leave the United States. If you have already applied for OPT or are planning to, make sure that you have someone available at the mailing address you provided to receive your EAD card. Please note, the mailing address must be the same as the address used on your OPT application. For any OPT specific questions, please direct them to Lauren Johns in the Career Center.
For students that are returning for the Fall semester, at this time, there are no further instructions. Continue to work on your online classes this spring and we will see you either this summer for the fall semester!
