Institutional Scholarships
Indiana Tech offers scholarships to international students based on their past academic achievements. Academically strong students can be eligible for up to $18,000 per year. Indiana Tech also offers two full tuition scholarships, per academic year. Please see below for more detailed information.
Fall 2024 – Spring 2025
The Global Scholar of Excellence will recognize international students for their achievements and encourage them to grow their leadership abilities. This scholarship is a full tuition scholarship valid for eight consecutive semesters, or the completion of the first undergraduate (bachelors) degree, whichever is obtained first.
Indiana Tech values diverse community leaders and would like to recognize students who exhibit leadership potential while demonstrating the core values of the university.
Ideal candidates will show concrete examples of how they have led within their communities. Candidates should have an attitude of continuous improvement and seek to improve their leadership abilities while helping others. To encourage this, the university will require recipients of this scholarship to complete annual leadership projects within the campus or local community.
In selecting recipients of the Global Scholar of Excellence, preference may be given to candidates who have established contributions within their community during their secondary education and show a commitment to become a well-rounded global citizen.

Recommended Selection Criteria
Please note this is for Fall 2024 applicants only. The test score requirement is preferred, but not required at this time.
For incoming freshmen (first-year students):
- 3.75 GPA or higher (on a 4.0- point scale)
- Minimum of 26 ACT score or 1240 SAT
- Acceptance to Indiana Tech
For transfer students:
- Met incoming freshman GPA (above) upon high school graduation
- Maintain a 3.5 GPA at their previous institution
- Minimum of 26 ACT score or 1240 SAT
Application Process
To be considered for the Global Scholar of Excellence, you must meet the specified criteria and submit the following items to your student portal by Friday, April 26th, 2024.
To apply, you must complete:
- The Global Scholarship of Excellence application
- An essay describing a time that you have demonstrated character and/or leadership in your community, your role, how others were affected, and what you learned from the experience (no more than two pages, double spaced).
- A professional resume demonstrating key accomplishments and contributions.
- A recommendation from a non-relative about how you demonstrate one of Indiana Tech’s core values: respect, commitment, honesty, passion, or integrity.
Additional Requirements
- Tuition Deposits must be made by July 13th, 2024.
- Tuition restricted scholarship. Does not cover room and board.
- Global Scholars must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 during their academic career at Indiana Tech. If GPA is lower than 3.0 for two consecutive semesters, the student’s scholarship will be eliminated. However, if the student raises the GPA to the accepted level, the scholarship may be restored.
- Applicants who fail to complete leadership projects may not be awarded the scholarship in subsequent years.
- The scholarship covers the full-time, day undergraduate block rates (12-18 credit hours per semester). Recipients may be responsible for fees incurred beyond the block. Summer classes are not covered by the scholarship.
- For consideration, applicants should not be deposited, or committed to an athletic program, prior to the application deadline.
Indiana Tech offers merit scholarships to first-year students that are accepted to the university. The award ranges from $5,000 to $18,000 per year based on the student’s high school GPA. To determine your merit scholarship, simply go to our Net Price Calculator and enter in your High School GPA.

Additional Information
- This is not stackable with any other Indiana Tech’s merit scholarships
- If you are an athlete, you will need to discuss with your respective coach on how the merit scholarship fits in with your overall athletic offer

- A minimum of a 2.0 GPA must be maintained for the scholarship to be renewed
- If you provide ACT/SAT scores, you may qualify for a higher scholarship level
Transfer students who have completed post-high school, college level coursework are eligible for a transfer achievement award. This merit-based scholarship is determined based on the cumulative GPA earned from their last college/university attended. Students are eligible to receive this scholarship for up to a total of eight semesters.

If you have or will receive your Associate’s Degree prior to enrollment at Indiana Tech, you can earn a $3,000 scholarship in addition to your merit scholarship. To qualify, you must have a cumulative 2.25 GPA at the completion of your Associate’s Degree.
Additional Information
- This scholarship cannot be awarded with an athletic scholarship or a Partnership Grant.
- You must enroll in a traditional undergraduate degree at Indiana Tech.
- Tuition restricted scholarship.

This is a full tuition scholarship covering up to 18 credit hours per semester. It is renewable for up to a total of eight semesters to help you achieve your first baccalaureate degree.
Ideal candidates will show concrete examples of how they have led within their communities. Candidates should have an attitude of continuous improvement and seek to improve their leadership abilities while helping others. To encourage this, the university will require recipients of this scholarship to complete annual leadership projects within the campus or local community.
In selecting recipients of the Presidential Scholarship, preference may be given to candidates who have established contributions within the Fort Wayne community, especially within the East Central neighborhood.

- Applicants must complete the FAFSA and meet financial aid deadlines each year to be awarded the scholarship.
- Deposits must be made by May 1.
- Tuition restricted scholarship.
- Presidential Scholars must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. If GPA is lower than 3.0 for two consecutive semesters, the student’s scholarship will be eliminated. However, if the student raises the GPA to the accepted level, the scholarship may be restored.
- Applicants who fail to complete leadership projects may not be awarded the scholarship in subsequent years.
The Vietnamese Scholarship for Excellence recognizes an outstanding undergraduate student from Vietnam who exhibits leadership and service potential while demonstrating the core values of Indiana Tech. This scholarship will honor students for their achievements and encourage them to grow in their leadership and service abilities by providing them with full tuition at Indiana Tech renewable for four years.
Ideal candidates will provide concrete examples of how they have led and served within their communities. Candidates should have an attitude of continuous improvement and seek community involvement by helping others. To encourage this, the university will require recipients of this scholarship to complete yearly projects within the campus or community.
Selection criteria
For incoming freshmen:
- Vietnamese Citizen
- 3.5 GPA or higher (on a 4.0 point scale)
- Full Acceptance to Indiana Tech (students with a Conditional Acceptance will not qualify)
For transfer students:
- Vietnamese Citizen
- Would have qualified for the scholarship upon graduating high school
- Cumulative college GPA of 3.5 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)
- High School GPA of 3.5 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)
Application process
The application process must be completed by May 31, 2024. To apply, you must complete:
- An essay describing a time that you have demonstrated character and/or leadership in your community, your role, how others were affected, and what you learned from the experience (no more than 2 pages, double-spaced).
- A professional resume demonstrating key accomplishments and contributions.
- A recommendation from a non-relative about how you demonstrate one of Indiana Tech’s core values: respect, commitment, honesty, passion, or integrity.
- Selected applicants need to go through virtual interview process.
Additional Requirements:
- Tuition Deposits must be made by July 12, 2024.
- This is a full-tuition scholarship. Scholarships from Indiana Tech are tuition-restricted; aid already awarded is not stackable with this scholarship.
- Vietnamese Scholars must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. If GPA is lower than 3.0 for two consecutive semesters, the student’s scholarship will be eliminated. However, the scholarship may be restored if the student raises the GPA to the accepted level.

Sponsorship Programs
Many international students apply for financial aid through their own government, which will transfer to Indiana Tech. Indiana Tech, in turn, works with various foreign governments and agencies to ensure the financial aid is properly applied to each student’s account. Canada
Indiana Tech is a designated educational institution with the government of Canada. Canadian students can apply for financial aid through their province or territory, and bring no-interest loan funds to Indiana Tech.

Saudi Arabia
Student who have been awarded the King Abdullah’s Scholarship are welcome to join Indiana Tech’s undergraduate programs. Indiana Tech works closely with the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission and Saudi Arabian students to ensure their scholarship is properly applied. Kuwait
Indiana Tech hosts a number of Kuwaiti scholars who receive funding from the Cultural Office of the Kuwait Embassy. Indiana Tech’s undergraduate programs in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering have all been approved by the Cultural Office of the Kuwait Embassy.
